Daniel “Womz” Womack—founding member of indie-rock athletes Futurebirds—and Johnny “Champ” Delaware, known for his work with Susto, The Artisinals, and his acclaimed solo catalog, first began making music together in 2016. They talked for years about starting a band, but life kept getting in the way—until now.

Blending their shared love of 90’s pop-country hooks, rock ’n’ roll grit, and unapologetic showmanship, they’ve created a world of their own: STARBORO.

An ode to their small-town upbringings, Starboro is steeped in Spanish moss memories—barn parties, jackalopes running free, and lightning bugs glowing violet at dusk. It feels like a whimsical Yoknapatawpha County, where David Lynch and Tom Robbin’s might’ve spent their childhood summers chasing urban legends, radios humming with Dwight Yoakham and Grateful Dead.

But regardless of the lore, one thing is true : in Starboro the songs come first, and they’re meant to be sung LOUDLY with your friends.
